There is just one grammar school in the Cumbria region and that is the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Penrith.
The parents of children wishing for their child to sit the 11+ for Queen Elizabeth's must complete the relevant form directly with the school. After receiving their child's results they then need to apply for a place at the school via Cumbria Council.
There are approximately 120 places available in year 7. Often more than twice this number sit the 11+ entrance exams.
Test Content
The test format is such that the child will sit three tests on the one day. These tests are in Verbal Reasoning, Mathematics and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
