About the School

At Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School, they pride themselves on the confident, well-educated and accomplished young women that graduate each year. Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School has a consistent record of academic excellence at the highest levels, achieved in an environment that encourages our students to grow and mature into capable, confident adults.

The school motto, when translated from Latin reads, From This Place Draw True Inspiration. Day-to-day, this means staff hope that all members of its school community will inspire, challenge, and achieve well as they take part in all that Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School has to offer.

Staff are ambitious for all learners. Their curriculum is knowledge-based to inspire all students, it is rich and ambitious to challenge them; and it is engaging and broad to enable them to achieve well.
By offering a curriculum that is in line with the National Curriculum, but which also goes beyond it, staff seek to ensure all learners - regardless of their abilities, talents, and needs - secure the knowledge and cultural capital they need to become global citizens who can exercise choice over their futures; and succeed in life.

Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School is a selective academy in Lincolnshire, bordering the counties of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Rutland. Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School has provided a first class education to local girls for over a century, opening in 1910. Staff deliver a traditional approach to education, focussed on classroom learning and self-directed study, encouraging and enabling all students to achieve their full potential.

A House system encourages girls to work with each other and develop their leadership and co-operation. An excellent House Pantomime, House Choir and House Dance competitions all highlight how impressive the students are: wholly self-organised, highly motivated, respectful and respected.

The historic centre of the school has been maintained and retains its impressive facade, as does the Sixth Form centre in Harrowby House with the school now accommodating 1200+ students.

The staff continually strive to bring out the best in the students, both academically and through a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School has exchange programmes in place with French, German, and Japanese schools; offer Duke of Edinburgh award scheme; regularly compete at national level in a diverse range of extra-curricular activities and present regular musical, choral and dramatic presentations throughout the year.

Many of the pupils perform in sport at county, regional, national and some at international level.
